Nargis Akhter wants to become a woman MP in Madaripur reserved seat

Madaripur Sadar Upazila Parishad Women Vice Chairman Mosa Nargis Akhter said that she wants to become a woman MP in the reserved seat in Madaripur.
On Monday (October 30) morning, after a function of Jubo Mahila League in Sadar Upazila in the presence of leaders and activists, he announced that Nargis Akhtar will be a candidate for the reserved women’s seat.
Nargis Akhtar is the Vice Chairman of Madaripur Sadar Upazila Parishad and has been serving as the President of Madaripur District Jubo Mahila League for a long time. Nargis Akhtar is also involved in various social organizations and activities.
In response to the questions of journalists, Mosa Nargis Akhter said, I am associated with politics since my student life. I have always been by the side of ordinary helpless people in their happiness and sorrow. I was, am and will be a servant of the people.
Nargis Akhtar said, I trust our leader Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Follow his example. I never did anything against his opinion. I will not do it in the future. So I believe you will give me an opportunity to work for the people.
Addressing the senior leaders of Madaripur district, upazila and municipal Jubo Mahila League and Awami League, Nargis Akhtar said that the leaders of Jubo Mahila League and senior leaders of Awami League have given me courage to move forward. They all want to see me as MP in this reserved seat. This is not my demand, it is the demand of the lives of all the people of Madaripur. So I am hoping to be nominated by the leader.
Jubo Mahila League leader Nargis Akhtar has been associated with Awami League politics for more than two decades. She became the president of Sadar Jubo Mahila League in 2004. After that in 2009, he has been serving as the senior vice-president of the District Youth Women’s League and in 2022, he has been serving as the president. Nargis Akhter participated in the Madaripur Sadar Upazila Parishad elections for the first time in 2019 and was elected after defeating her closest rival Parveen Jahan by 36 thousand 300 votes.
Nargis Akter lives in Jhirhati area of Ghatmazhi union of Sadar upazila. Her husband Kazi Sarwar Hossain is a former senior officer of the Bangladesh Army. He is currently living in the United States. They have one son and one daughter. His daughter is also a resident of the United States.
