Mourning is going on at Mamun Mia’s house in Muradnagar, Comilla, who lost her life in a road accident in Saudi. A bus with 47 passengers on its way to the holy city of Mecca for performing Umrah in Asir region of Saudi Arabia met with a terrible accident on Monday afternoon local time. Among the passengers were 35 Bangladeshis. According to the Bangladesh Consulate in Jeddah, the accident site is approximately 600 km away from Jeddah. According to the latest reports, 24 people were killed in the accident. Among those who lost their lives are 8 Bangladeshis. Three of those eight are from Comilla. They are Mamun, Russell Molla of Muradnagar in the district and Gias Hamid of Rajamehar area of Debidwar upazila. Mamun’s house is in Mostapur village of Muradnagar. Neighbors and relatives started flocking to his house from Wednesday morning after getting the news that the 22-year-old man was killed in Saudi Arabia. It can be seen at home, Mamun’s father Abdul Awal is not talking much. Mother Mumtaz Begum is crying for her son. He is seen clapping his chest after seeing the picture on his mobile phone. Mamun Mia is the fourth among Abdul Awal’s three daughters and two sons. Six months ago, Mamun went to Saudi through his uncle Yar Hussain. He worked there as a hotel boy. The deceased Mamun’s aunt Taslima Begum said that Mamun, his uncle Yar Hossain and Mamun’s nephew Zahidul Islam left for Makkah to perform Umrah by bus. On the way, they suffered a road accident. Taslima also said that the bus carrying Mamun and his relatives braked and hit a bridge. Later it caught fire. Mamun could not get out of the car; He died in the fire. Mamun’s uncle Yar Hossain and nephew Zahid were seriously injured in the accident. They are undergoing treatment in a hospital in Makkah. Mamun’s father Abdul Awal said that Mamun applied for a visa at least 9 months ago. His application was rejected due to his young age. Later, Mamun applied again 6 months ago. He was sent to Saudi Arabia by spending 5 lakh rupees. Borrowing the entire amount from relatives and neighbors. He said, “This accident happened at 3:30 pm on Monday in Saudi Arabia.
