A traveling court fined two businessmen Tk 1 lakh for finding dengue mosquito infestation and larvae in an illegal plastic factory at Galachipar Ulania port in Patuakhali.
The operation was conducted on Sunday, September 10 around 11:30 a.m. based on complaints from the media and locals. It is known from the locals that due to the accumulation of rainwater in the abandoned plastic factories, the dengue mosquito infestation is increasing from the locality to the upazila. As a result, the number of people in Ulania, Par Dakua area is constantly increasing, even 4 people have died due to dengue.
Local people say that only if the plastic waste is removed from the area, we will get relief and relief from various unknown diseases including dengue.
In this regard, traveling magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Saiful Islam sentenced two persons to three months rigorous imprisonment under Section 43 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act for buying and selling illegal plastic waste dengue mosquito larvae and abandoned medical surgery waste in Ulania Bazar near Dakua. Later, after paying the fine, the broken businessmen Al-Amin and Sakil Rari were freed.
