Due to a technical fault, the metro rail services were closed from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM on Wednesday. Officials said there was a fault in the electrical line. Later after it was fixed, the movement was normal around 12 noon.

An official of the Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project (DMDCL), who did not want to be named, said that the problem occurred due to the failure of the electric line at the power substation on the Metrorail line in Sheorapara. Passengers suffered due to this. However, the technical team works there from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. After 12 o’clock metro rail movement became normal.

Earlier on Monday (August 7) morning, the Metrorail was delayed by 40 minutes due to a minor mechanical fault. As a result, although the metro rail was scheduled to start at 8 am, it left at 8:40 am.
