Touhid Hossain Sarkar, Comilla: Today 27 January at 10 am, leaders of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Comilla Metropolitan inspected the preparatory work for the historic election rally next Friday at the Comilla Town Hall ground. The election rally will be held on January 30 (Friday) at the initiative of Comilla Metropolitan.
Leaders said that it is expected that about a lakh people will gather at the public meeting. For the convenience of the public, there will be an emergency medical service camp and immediate problem-solving facilities on the ground.
At this public meeting, candidate Kazi Din Mohammad, who is participating in the election with the symbol of a beard, will present his ideas and promises for the future development of Comilla. It is also known that he will present the needs and expectations of the common people after going around Comilla for the past one and a half years. The people of Comilla demand an honest and visionary leadership who will work to elevate Comilla into a modern and first-class city.
The leaders said that Comilla has a lot of heritage and potential. The former capital of Tripura, Comilla, has not yet been able to become a division. Although there was once an airport, it has been closed. In a delicate situation of urban management including traffic congestion, the people of Comilla are waiting for the right leadership. They will present a plan to take Comilla forward by developing railways, waterways, land ports, airports and tourism industries, including a direct railway line from Comilla to Dhaka.
It is also learnt that the promise of an integrated development plan centered on the Gomti River, an aesthetic tourism industry, and the historical Kotbari of Comilla will be announced at the public meeting. The leaders hope that the roadmap for implementing this progress of Comilla under the leadership of Ameer-e-Jamaat Dr. Shafiqur Rahman will be presented at the public meeting.
The leaders of the organization mentioned that the city will witness a new chapter in history with the presence of over a lakh people at the Comilla Town Hall grounds to make the day memorable.
Present during the visit were Comilla Metropolitan City Ameer and beard symbol candidate Kazi Din Mohammad, Metropolitan City Secretary Maulana Mahbubur Rahman, Assistant Secretary Kamruzzaman Sohel, Youth Division Secretary Md. Abul Kalam Patwary, journalist Shahidullah Miyaji and other leaders.
