In Brahmanbaria, 51 children have been admitted to various health centers, including the 250-bed General Hospital, with measles symptoms, of whom the Health Department has already identified the disease in seven.
Currently, 27 children are undergoing treatment at the Isolation Center of the District Sadar Hospital, of which seven more have been newly admitted in the last 24 hours. However, as the 10-bed isolation ward has more patients than its capacity, many children are having to receive treatment on the floor in difficult conditions. The hospital authorities said that samples of the infected have been collected and sent to Dhaka for testing, and the patients are being provided with necessary treatment, including regular vitamin A capsules, under the supervision of specialist doctors.
The Health Department is continuing to monitor the situation closely.
