 The office assistant (MLSS) of the same institution, Alam Sikdar, has been accused of beating and injuring the superintendent and assistant Maulvi of Sonargaon Arua Hasania Dakhil Madrasa due to an earlier dispute over recruitment and land in Rajapur of Jhalkathi. Currently two injured teachers are undergoing treatment at Rajapur Upazila Health Complex. The incident took place in front of Sonargaon Arua Hasania Dakhil Madrasa of Upazila at approximately 10 am on Thursday (July 11).
Injured Maulvi Abul Kalam Sikder complained that there was a dispute over the appointment of two posts and land in the madrasa with the office assistant (MLSS) Alam Sikder of the same institution. He pressured us to give his brother Sajib Sikdar a job in a newly created post in the madrasa. Then I told Super Sahib Alam Sikdar that you should apply according to the rules, if you have the qualifications, you will get the job. But without listening to these words, he continued to dispute with us. Following this, on Thursday (July 11) at approximately 10 am I was on my way to madrasa from Rajapur. On the way in front of local Rashid Sikder’s house, Alam Sikder and his brother Sajib Sikder attacked me with native weapons and sticks and beat me severely. Then, on my call, Madrasa Superintendent Abdus Salam Sikdar came forward to rescue me and they beat and injured him. Alam Sikder and his brother Sajib Sikder actually beat and injured my father to rescue me. Alam Sikder is his brother Sajib Sikder son of late Abdul Mannan Sikder of Arua area.
In this regard, the officer in charge of Rajapur police station M. Ataur Rahman said, if a complaint is received regarding the beating of two teachers of the madrasa, further legal action will be taken subject to investigation.
