Pirojpur Correspondent: A huge election rally was held in Pirojpur Sadar Upazila of BNP’s nominated MP candidate for Pirojpur-1 (Pirojpur Sadar-Nazirpur-Zianagar) constituency in the upcoming 11th National Parliament election.
The rally was held at 3 pm on Monday (February 9) at Pirojpur Shaheed Minar Square. In the rally, chaired by Pirojpur District BNP convener Nazrul Islam Khan and moderated by District BNP Member Secretary Saidul Islam Kismat, BNP’s nominated candidate for Pirojpur 1 constituency Principal Alamgir Hossain, district and upazila BNP leaders delivered speeches.
In a huge election rally held at the Pirojpur Shaheed Minar square, Principal Alamgir Hossain said in his speech – “If you get the opportunity to go to the National Assembly with your votes, this town will be declared free from extortion and corruption. The hard-earned money of the poor and hardworking people will not be allowed to go into the pockets of any looters.”
He also said that if elected, extensive development will be made in the health and education sectors. If the BNP forms the government, the 20,000-kilometer canal digging program will be implemented across the country as the unfinished work of martyred President Ziaur Rahman. At the same time, farmers will be made self-reliant by providing interest-free and easy loans.
He reiterated the commitment to implement the farmer card and family card in light of the 31-point program announced by the BNP. He made various promises including developing the infrastructure of the area, building factories to eliminate the problem of unemployment, and making the youth drug-free.
At that time, leaders and activists from all walks of life of Pirojpur Sadar Upazila spontaneously attended the public meeting with a procession in favor of sheaves of rice.
After the public meeting, the BNP nominated candidate of Pirojpur 1 constituency and the district BNP leaders, along with party leaders, activists and supporters, took an important tour of Pirojpur city with a procession of sheaves of rice starting from Shaheed Minar Square.
