The police recovered the floating body of an unidentified person (55) from Teesta river at Lalmonirhat.
On Tuesday (November 21) afternoon, the body was recovered from under Teesta road bridge in Gokunda Union of Sadar Upazila.
Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Omar Farooq said that locals informed the police after seeing the body of an unknown person floating in the river Teesta under the bridge. Later, the police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to the morgue of Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital.
However, efforts are being made to identify the deceased.
