A 6th class student named Ayan was killed by a truck in Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila. The accident took place in front of Fakir Takia High School in Sadar Upazila on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased is the son of Shri Sachin Chandra of Dhumerkuthi village of Gokunda Union of Ayan Sadar Upazila. He was a 6th standard student of Takia High School in Fakir.
Locals said that school student Ayan Chandra Roy was returning home with a bicycle when the school class was over. While crossing the highway, a truck going from Kurigram to Rangpur hit him from behind and he was crushed under the truck and died on the spot.
Omar Farooq, OC of Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station, confirmed the incident and said that the traffic has been kept normal by sending the police to the spot. The local crowd intercepted the killer truck and handed it over to the police. But the driver escaped.
