The local Awami League held a protest march and rally to protest the killing of labor leader Jahangir Alam in the strike called by BNP-Jamaat in Lalmonirhat and to demand the arrest of the killers.
Last Saturday (November 4) in the afternoon organized a rally under the banner of regional committee at Mahendra Nagar of Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila.
The protest procession came out from Mahendranagar Bazar intersection and circled Lalmonirhat-Rangpur highway and gathered again at the same place.

Mention, during the strike called by BNP on August 29, the leaders and activists of BNP clashed with the workers in the Mahendranagar Railgate area of Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila. Four people were injured.
Out of which Load Unload Sramik Union Publicity Secretary Jahangir Alam died that day while undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College Hospital. In this incident, a murder case was filed at the Sadar police station against 81 people, including BNP’s central organizing secretary and former deputy minister Asadul Habib Dulu.
