The afternoon of 17th August, the unveiling of the monument of Martyr Miraj Khan, who was killed in the anti-discrimination student movement, and a prayer ceremony were held in the organization of Path, a social organization in the district town.
Miraj Khan, a talented student of Aditmari upazila of Lalmonirhat district, was shot in Dhaka and died on August 8 while undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College Hospital. Shaheed Miraj’s father Abdus Salam, Shaheed Miraj’s younger brother Mezbaul, president of social organization Path, Tah Hiatul Habib Mridul, general secretary Ruhul Amin, journalist Masum Mia, Shaheed Islam Sujan, Khairul Kabir and other members of the organization were present at the memorial monument unveiling and prayer ceremony.
Shaheed Miraj’s father said, I and my family are forever grateful to the social organization Path. Thanks to them for taking such a nice initiative. We want the monument in my son’s name to be forever. At the same time, I request the current government to bring all the murderers of the country under justice and start their justice process very quickly.
