The police recovered the hanging body of an Awami League leader named Moksed Ali (52) from a tree on the bank of Teesta river in Hatibandha upazila of Lalmonirhat.

On Sunday (April 28) around noon, his body was found hanging from a mango tree next to a corn field on the bank of Teesta river in Sadhurbazar area of ​​Goddimari union of the upazila.

The deceased Moksed Ali was the general secretary of Awami League ward number 1 of that union.

Safiar Rahman, a member of Gaddimari UP, said that the local farmers found the hanging body of Awami League leader Mokched Ali in the deserted mango tree while working in the corn field in Teestar.

On receiving the information, Hatibandha police station recovered the body and sent it to Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital morgue.  Mokched Ali has two wives.

One of whom is a reserved female member of Ward No. 1, 2 and 3 of Goddimari Union.

In this regard, Hatibandha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saiful Islam said, the body has been sent to the morgue for autopsy.  A case of wrongful death (UD) has been registered in this incident.  After looking at the morgue report, necessary legal action will be taken.
