A 5-year-old child named Alif Hossain died tragically after falling from a boat on the bank of Teesta river in Hatibandha upazila of Lalmonirhat.
The incident took place on the bank of Teesta River in Pathan Bari area of Sindurna Union of Upazila on September 2 (Monday). The deceased, child Alif is said to be the son of Mintu Mia of the area.
It is known that Alif Hossain’s parents go to cut grass on the banks of Teesta river like every day. While father Mintu Mia and mother Kakuli Begum were cutting grass on the banks of the river, baby boy Alif was playing on a boat tied to the river bank. At that time, the child Alif fell from the boat into the river without the knowledge of his parents. Later, they searched without seeing Alif. Later, locals found his body floating in the river and took him to Hatibandha Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty declared him dead.
Sindurna Union Parishad Chairman Ariful Islam confirmed the truth of the incident and said that a child named Alif Hossain died after falling from a boat on the banks of Teesta river. As there is no complaint from his family, the body is being prepared for burial.
