Lalmonirhat, farmers benefited by cultivating winter vegetables in advance. So farmers are spending busy time in early winter vegetable cultivation. In the current season, the farmers of Velabari, Kamalbari, Durgapur Sadar Upazila, Mogalhat, Barabari, Panchagram Union of Aditmari Upazila of the district have started cultivating winter vegetables in advance in the hope of more profit. Various kinds of vegetables including winter vegetables, cauliflower, beans, cabbage, radishes are seen in the fields.
A few days ago, due to continuous heavy rains for a few days, the planted seedlings of winter vegetables of the farmers were damaged due to which they were damaged. For this reason, plant vegetable seedlings in advance again in the hope of profit.
Ruhul Amin Babul, a farmer of Mughalhat Union, said, I cultivate 3-4 bigha of early vegetables every year. But this year due to financial crisis I cultivated cauliflower in 2 and half bigha land. However, if the yield is good this year, I hope to be able to make a profit.
Fazlur Rahman, another farmer of Kamalbari Union, said that he cultivated winter vegetables radish on one bigha of land. He hopes to be able to breed radish market within 10 to 12 days. He is expecting good prices of vegetables in the market due to early cultivation.
In this regard, the agricultural officer of the district said that the cultivation of winter vegetables has already started in the district this season. Those who have grown vegetables early are benefiting well. Farmers are happy that they can sell at a higher price.
