The District Returning Officer has cancelled five out of the 27 nominations submitted for three parliamentary constituencies in Lalmonirhat and kept two nominations pending.
This information was given by District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner HM Rakib Haider after the scrutiny and hearing of nomination papers at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Saturday (January 3).
After the hearing, the nominations of AB Party candidate Firoz Kabir in Lalmonirhat-3 (Sadar) constituency and Labor Party candidate Shuvo Ahmed in Lalmonirhat-1 constituency were kept pending due to minor errors.
The nomination of independent candidate Shihab Ahmed in Lalmonirhat-1 constituency was cancelled due to discrepancies in the signatures of one percent of voters. Independent candidates Rezaul Karim, Dr. The nominations of Abu Sama and Khelafat Majlish candidate Abul Kasem have also been cancelled. In addition, the nomination of independent candidate Abdur Rahman in Lalmonirhat-2 constituency was cancelled.
The nominations of Jatiya Party candidate Mashiur Rahman Ranga in Lalmonirhat-1 constituency, Janata Dal chairman retired Brigadier Shamim Kamal in Lalmonirhat-2 constituency and BNP organizing secretary Asadul Habib Dulu in Lalmonirhat-3 constituency have been declared valid.
District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner HM Rakib Haider said that the pending nominations will be declared valid if the errors are corrected within the stipulated time.
