Lalmonirhat in body of young man found in Teesta river after missing two days

Two days after he went missing in Lalmonirhat, the police recovered the body of a young man named Hamim Uddin (20) from Teesta river.

His body was recovered from Teesta River in Gokunda Union of Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila on Wednesday (06 September) noon.

He is the son of Nabeez Uddin of Mustafi Kosatari village in that area.  Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station Omar Farooq said that the youth Hamim Uddin was missing since last two days.  Locals saw his body floating in Teesta river on Wednesday afternoon and informed the police.  Later, when Hamim’s family identified his body, the police recovered the body and sent it to Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital morgue.

A case of wrongful death has been filed at the Sadar Police Station.  OC Omar Farooq also said that further legal action will be taken when the morgue report is received.
