Lalmonirhat BNP leader murder case arrested – 3

Police have arrested 3 people including 1 woman in the case of murder of Ferdous Alam (48), union president of Swachhasebak Dal, an affiliate of BNP, in Lalmonirhat. Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Omar Farooq confirmed the fact of the arrest on Friday (March 15) afternoon.
The arrested are Masum Reza (40), son of Mozammel Haque of Balatari area of ​​Lalmonirhat municipality, his wife Sabina Begum Lipi (35) and rickshaw driver Rafiqul Islam alias Waz Ali (40), son of deceased Akul Hossain of West Haribhanga area of ​​the same municipality. Earlier on Monday (March 11) morning, his body was recovered from Nijpara area of ​​Mahendranagar Union of Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila.
Ferdous Alam is the son of Nural Haque of Kalmati Anandabazar area of ​​Khuniyagach Union of Sadar Upazila. He is the president of that union volunteer group.
Police and locals said that Ferdous Alam came out of the house on Sunday afternoon in Barabari Union of Sadar Upazila to attend a meeting of BNP. Even though it was late at night, his family tried to contact him but his phone was switched off when he did not return home. Finally came to search in Lalmonirhat city and found his used motorcycle at Pran Kendra Mission intersection of the city but could not find him.
On Monday (March 11) morning, local residents informed the police after seeing the body of volunteer group leader Ferdous lying on the side of the road in Nijpara area of ​​Mahendranagar Union of Sadar Upazila. Sadar Police Station recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital Morgue.
In this incident, Ayesha Islam, the wife of the deceased, filed a murder case against the unidentified persons at the Sadar police station. Using technology, Sadar Thana Police arrested 3 people in this case and sent them to the court for statement.
Those arrested during the initial interrogation told the police that the deceased Swachhaseva Dal leader Ferdous Alam had an extra-marital relationship with Sabina Begum Lipi. Because of that relationship, Ferdous Alam suddenly died of stoke in the birth room after going to his lover’s house and having sexual intercourse. The arrested claimed that her body was kept on the side of the road with the help of her husband Masum Reza and rickshaw driver Rafiqul to save herself.
The investigating officer of the case, Sadar police station sub-inspector (SI) Aminul Islam, said that Ferdous died in the house of the accused lover Lippi and they admitted during the initial interrogation that the body was left outside. However, it cannot be said whether the death was due to poisoning or not without the post-mortem report. An investigation is underway. Remand has not been sought for now, if necessary, remand will be applied for.
Omar Farooq, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station, said that 3 persons, including a woman, have been arrested and sent to the court for statement in the Ferdous murder case. In the light of the deposition, the details will be given in the press briefing later.
