SB-Sujon, Lalmonirhat :
Lalmonirhat, there have been allegations of character theft by spreading false propaganda in the name of BNP leader by opening a fake ID on Facebook. BNP leader Ripon Mia has filed a written complaint with the police station seeking justice.
‎According to the complaint, Ripon Mia is the son of Yakub Ali of Uttar Gobadha village of Durgapur union in Aditmari upazila of Lalmonirhat. He is the general secretary of the ward volunteer party of that union.
‎Locals said that since the fall of the Awami League, a fascist group started cheating by opening some fake Facebook IDs to harass BNP leaders and activists socially. RK Ujjol, Durgapur union, Aditmari and Jibon Ko are among them. These fake IDs are targeting BNP leaders and are editing their photos with drug pictures and spreading false propaganda in various ways, including drug lords.
This is not just insulting the leaders. In order to tarnish the party’s reputation, the photos of BNP’s central and district leaders have also been profiled with these fake IDs. So that the administration people are deceived into thinking that these fake IDs are the IDs used by BNP leaders.
‎Similarly, Durgapur Union Ward No. 6 Swechchhasebak Dal Secretary Ripon Mia was edited with a drug picture and added to his status, including a drug lord. Similarly, such posts have been made from the three IDs mentioned. A person who speaks against drugs, protests drugs, is being promoted as a drug lord. The locals are shocked to see this. After trying various ways but failing to identify the user of the IDs, the victim BNP leader Ripon Mia filed a written complaint with Aditmari Police Station.
‎Locals claim that drug dealers, who are allies of fascism, are doing this to divert the administration in a different direction and to tarnish the character of BNP leaders and activists. After taking immoral benefits, they are also deleting objectionable pictures of the leaders.
‎Aditmari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ali Akbar said in this regard, if a complaint is received, an investigation will be conducted and legal action will be taken.
