Lalmonirhat Bangladesh Army conducts exercise to keep polling stations safe

The Bangladesh Army has conducted a massive exercise in Lalmonirhat to maintain the overall law and order situation and ensure smooth voting ahead of the upcoming national elections.
The exercise was held at Suhrawardy Ground in Lalmonirhat city on Monday (February 9) morning. The exercise was visited by Major General Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, GOC of 66 Infantry Division and Area Commander of Rangpur Area.
Various units of 66 Infantry Division participated in this exercise organized under his guidance. The exercise demonstrated strategies for dealing with election-time violence, controlling riots, handling suspicious situations, ensuring security of important installations and polling stations, rapid response and coordinated operations.
The training activities were conducted using modern equipment modeled after real situations.  The main objective of this exercise of the army is to deal with any unexpected situation centered around the elections with efficiency, create an environment of security and trust among the general public and ensure maximum readiness to carry out election-related duties.
The exercise clearly demonstrates the professionalism, discipline and effective preparation capacity of the Bangladesh Army. At the same time, strengthening coordination with local administration and other law enforcement agencies is also important.
According to relevant sources, the Bangladesh Army is on the highest alert to make the upcoming national parliamentary elections free, fair and peaceful and is ready to take quick action in any situation.
Senior officers of the army, commanders and members of the concerned units were present at the time. The general public of Lalmonirhat, who witnessed the exercise, welcomed the army’s preparation and said that such an exercise has conveyed a message of relief and confidence to the public surrounding the elections.
