A trolley driver named Faridul Islam (28) was killed after being hit by a truck in Aditmari Upazila of Lalmonirhat.
The accident happened on Sunday (February 25) night at Saptibari market of Lalmonirhat Burimari highway upazila.
The deceased Faridul Islam is a resident of Kasim Bazar area of Velaguri Union of Hatibandha Upazila.
According to the police and locals, the trolley driver Faridul Islam was going to the cold store with a trolley loaded with potatoes through the Lalmonirhat-Burimari highway.
On the way reaching Saptibari Bazar, a truck loaded with stones from Burimari hit the potato trolley. When the trolley overturned and fell on the side of the road, the driver Faridul Islam died on the spot.
On receiving the information, Aditmari police station and fire service members went and recovered the body of Faridul and normalized traffic on the road.
Aditmari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahmud Un Nabi confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the dead body was handed over to his family as there was no complaint from the victim’s family.
