On the occasion of the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election 2026, Advocate Abu Taher, the candidate nominated by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and 11-party alliance for Lalmonirhat-3 (Sadar) constituency, has announced his election manifesto.
He announced this manifesto at a program organized at Munster Hotel in Lalmonirhat district town today, Monday, February 9 at 12 noon. Local leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami and the alliance parties were present at the program.
In the manifesto, Abu Taher said that his goal is to develop Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila as a clean and modern model upazila by capturing the spirit of the great Liberation War and the July 24th mass uprising. For this purpose, he highlighted the sector-based development plan.
The manifesto promises to ensure 100% literacy in the education sector, establish smart schools with digital facilities in every union, strengthen technical education and IT training. It also mentions the establishment of a higher education support fund and an international scholarship support center for talented and financially disadvantaged students.
Plans are being made to establish a ‘farmer’s market’ in the agricultural sector to ensure fair prices for farmers, provide interest-free loans, develop cold storage and food processing industries. The manifesto also promises to build sustainable dams and implement dredging activities to prevent erosion of the Teesta and Dharla rivers.
In the health sector, it promises to strengthen union-based community clinics, launch mobile health units, introduce health care cards for the poor and modernize government hospitals. He also announced plans to eliminate unemployment, employ youth and women, rehabilitate beggars and develop at least one skilled member in every family through the ‘One for All’ project.
Apart from this, the manifesto also announced the formation of an anti-corruption committee to develop communication infrastructure, pave unpaved roads, eliminate waterlogging, develop tourist centers, expand youth and sports facilities, and establish good governance.
Speakers at the event said that through the implementation of this manifesto, it will be possible to transform Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila into a planned, humane and developed town.
