Laksam Correspondent : Ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election, the Peace Facilitator Group (PFG) has conducted an exceptional cultural awareness program to prevent electoral violence and maintain a peaceful environment in Laksam, Comilla.
This day-long initiative emphasized the active and responsible role of the local people. The program provided guidance on what to do to prevent electoral violence. In addition, special emphasis was placed on maintaining mutual respect and tolerance between political parties, cordial behavior between the winning and losing parties, refraining from religious hatred and provocative statements, and preventing rumors.
At this time, voters and party workers were urged to avoid clashes, follow the election code of conduct, and immediately inform the law enforcement agencies if there is a threat of violence.
As part of the program, leaflets were distributed among the general public. PFG Ambassador Sirajul Haque, Female Ambassador Nazneen Akhter Nipa, Coordinator Zafar Ahmed, Senior Member Nazmun Nahar Nupur, Senior Member Selim Chowdhury Hira, Kamal Hossain, Member Shahidul Islam and Member Rimu Afratul participated in this.
The campaign was officially inaugurated by handing over the leaflets to Laksam Upazila Executive Officer Nargis Sultana.
PFG Ambassador Sirajul Haque said that as part of the campaign, cultural workers from Laksam Upazila Parishad premises to various important areas including Laksam Bazar, Junction Bazar, Ashirpar Bazar, Manoharganj Bazar, Moishatua Bazar and other places, through songs and messages, motivated the general public to prevent election violence.
Along with PFG, Youth Peace Ambassador Group (YCAG) participated in this initiative. MIPS Project and The Hunger Project Bangladesh cooperated in the program.
