The police of Kamalganj police station arrested 2 persons in connection with the case of stabbing construction worker Jabed Mia (25) in Rahimpur Union No. 1 of Kamalganj upazila. The arrested are Suman Mia (20) son of Firuz Mia and Mursalin (21) son of Sagar Mia of Kalenga village. On the morning of August 8, Suman and Mursalin were surrounded by the local crowd and informed the police. The police came and arrested them. According to the statement of the case, on the night of August 4, around 11 o’clock, Kalenga Sakinth, in front of the residence of one Sultan Mia, blocked the way of the construction worker Javed and started abusing him in obscene language. At that time, Tapu started cutting Mia’s head with a sharp blade in her hand and inflicted serious cut and bloody injuries on various parts of her body including left wrist, index finger, elbow, knee. Hearing Halla’s screams, the neighbor rescued him and admitted him to Moulvibazar 250-bed hospital. At this time, his body needs about 50 stitches. Javed’s elder brother Monir Mia, who was injured in the incident, has filed as a plaintiff Tapu Mia (19) son of deceased Malek Mia, Kismat Ali’s son Sohag Mia (20), Firuz Mia’s son Suman Mia (20), Sagar Mia’s son Mursalin (21), Khokon. Mia’s son Sumon Mia (19) filed a case (No-11, Date : 07/08/2023) with Kamalganj Police Station as an anonymous accused.
