A 57-year-old man named Zahidul Islam died after being hit by a train in Joypurhat. The accident took place in the early morning of Monday (April 03) at the Railgate area of Harijan Colony in Biswaspara of the city. The deceased is said to be the son of the deceased Sahib Ali of Puranapail Parishadpara of Joypurhat Sadar Upazila, the home of Zahidul. According to police and family sources, Zahidul Islam was working as a security guard in a private company in Dhaka. After having a brain stroke there, he became mentally unstable and stayed at home. Sometimes wander like a vagabond. Yesterday at about 11 pm, he left the house angrily. After searching for a long time, we did not get any news, but on Monday morning, the family got news of his death due to a serious head injury due to being hit by a train. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Santahar Railway Police Station Muktar Hossain said over the phone that a man named Zahidul Islam died on the spot after being hit by Uttara Express train bound for Rajshahi from Chilahati. He also said that the body was recovered and sent to Joypurhat Modern Hospital for autopsy. After the post-mortem, the body will be handed over to the family.
