A joint forces exercise led by the army has been held in Brahmanbaria to ensure a stable law and order situation, a fair and impartial electoral environment ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections and referendum.
The army, police, RAB, BGB, Ansar and other law enforcement agencies participated in the exercise organized on Tuesday. The exercise was held between the joint forces on electoral law and order under the leadership of the Bangladesh Army at the Suhilpur playground in Sadar Upazila.
Later, several APCs and vehicle fleets of the army, police, BGB and Ansar forces under the leadership of the army took part in an exercise in the field. During this, it was informed that if a polling station is attacked by terrorists, how will the joint forces reach that center and ensure the safety of everyone and allow the common people to vote at the polling station without fear and disturbance.
According to army sources, through such exercises, the ability of the army and other joint forces to respond quickly, professionally and conduct coordinated activities with other law enforcement agencies is being further strengthened to ensure a peaceful environment during the elections in the district. He said that such exercises will increase confidence among the general public and will play an important role in making the elections fair, impartial and acceptable.
The exercise was organized as a preparation for controlling the law and order situation during the elections, ensuring security at polling stations and dealing with any unexpected situations. Media workers working in the district were present during the exercise.
