Gazi Gias Uddin Bashir Jhalakathi : 3081 Ansar and Village Defense Force members are ready in Jhalakathi to ensure smooth conduct of the 13th National Parliament Election. They will be responsible for security at 237 polling stations in 4 upazilas of Jhalakathi.

An election preparatory rally of Ansar and VDP was held on Saturday, February 7 at 12 noon. Abdus Samad, the force’s Barisal Range Commander, was present as the chief guest at the rally.
Speaking as the chief guest at the rally, the Range Commander said, “Long-term preparations have been made by Ansar and VDP members to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections. The forces are ready to perform their duties during the election through modern training systems, technology-based management and integrated security strategies.”
He further said that the members have undergone training, screening and preparation activities that have been ongoing for the past one and a half years to fulfill their electoral duties. Election preparations have been completed with priority given to young members. In addition, necessary reserve members have also been kept ready.
Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force’s Jhalokati District Commandant Md. Ismail Hossain, Sadar Upazila Officer Nirab Biswas, Rajapur Upazila Officer Ashalata, Kathalia Upazila Officer Saifunnahar, Nalchiti Upazila Officer Suraiya Begum, and various officers and trainers of the force at the district and upazila levels were present at the rally.
The Ansar district office told the media that the preparatory gathering was organized to ensure a clear understanding of the distribution of responsibilities, coordination and instructions given by the force among the members before performing their duties at the polling station.
It was further informed, “To all those present at the gathering, the role of professionalism, political neutrality and honesty of Ansar and VDP members in carrying out their electoral duties is very important. Emphasis is placed on following the instructions given by the force without succumbing to any kind of pressure or temptation while carrying out their duties.”
