At the closing ceremony of the fair, IVY Machineries Managing Director Engineer Imam Hasan presented three important demands to the government for a radical change in the plastics sector of Bangladesh: 1. Establish specialized educational institutions to create skilled manpower and innovate its own technology. 2. Provide bank loans on easy terms for new and small entrepreneurs. 3. Ensure a business-friendly environment by resolving tax and VAT complications at the import stage.
Engineer Imam Hasan said, “To make the plastic sector as strong as the ready-made garment industry, there is no alternative to education and research. Our goal is to make Bangladesh a ‘green’ and self-sufficient country in the plastic industry.”
