The Social Sciences Faculty of Islamic University in Kushtia on Wednesday held an orientation program for the newly admitted students under 2022-23 academic sessions of the university. The orientation program was held at Bir Shrestha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium of the university around 10:30 am.
Around five hundred fresh students from Economics, Public Administration, Political Science, Social Welfare, Development Studies, Folklore Studies, Communication and Multimedia Journalism and Physical Education and Sports Science departments attended the program.
IU Pro-vice Chancellor Professor M Mahbubur Rahman addressed the program as chief guest. Treasurer Professor Alamgir Hossain Bhuiya and social science faculty dean Professor AKM Motinur Rahman were the special guests with Professor Kazi Mostofa Arif, convener of the event and chairman of Economics department in the chair. IU proctor Professor Shahadat Hossain Azad, student advisor Professor Shelina Nasrin and the chairman of eight departments under the faculty of social sciences were present here, among others. Later, a colorful cultural program was held there.
Speakers, in their speeches, welcomed the freshers to IU and suggested becoming a good human being by utilizing their time.
