The authority of Islamic University (IU) has formed a seven-member election commission to conduct the bi-annual election (2026–2027) of the Islamic University Officers Association.
Deputy Registrar of the Transport Office Md Hafizur Rahman (Bacchu) has been appointed as the chief election commissioner, according to a notice signed by Mohammad Alauddin, chief deputy registrar of the Estate Office and president of the association’s convening issued on Monday.
Six assistant election commissioners will support the commission. They are Md Israful Haque and Md Jahangir Alam from the Finance and Accounts Department, Md Masudul Haque Talukder from the Academic Section, Md Shamim Akter Jinzir from the Office of the Controller of Examinations, Md Abu Zafar (Adom) from the Central Library, and Md Anjurul Haque from the Transport Office.
The notice said the election commission will carry out all activities related to the election. According to government rules, the election cannot be held before 12 February 2026, while the exact date will be announced by the chief election commissioner after the national election.
