Students and teachers of the Department of Development Studies at Islamic University (IU) paying tribute at the university Martyrs Memorial, marking Independence Day on Thursday.
The tribute was held at around 11:00 am under the leadership the department’s chairman , Assistant Professor Atifa Kafi, where teachers and students participated and expressed their deep respect for those who sacrificed their lives during the Liberation War.
Prior to this, the university administration observed the day through a series of programmes, including hoisting of the national and university flags and a colorful procession joined by various faculties, halls, departments, teachers, students, officers, employees and socio-cultural organisation’s, then moved across different campus roads before gathering at the university Martyrs Memorial , where participants placed wreaths in honour of the martyrs.
