Alhaj Engineer Atiqur Rahman, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of International Standard University (ISU), Managing Director of The Civil Engineers Limited, received the CIP Award for his contribution to the large industrial sector. 22 May 2023 Monday afternoon Agriculture Minister Dr. Abdur Razzak handed over the CIP award to engineer Atiqur Rahman in a ceremony held at a hotel in the capital. Undoubtedly, his contribution to socio-economic development and employment creation of Bangladesh was recognized. In an immediate response, Engineer Atiqur Rahman thanked the Honorable Prime Minister and Industries Minister for re-electing him as CIP. At the same time, he expressed his gratitude to all the officers and employees of The Civil Engineers Limited and said that this special achievement is due to their hard work. Born in Barura, Comilla, engineer Atiqur Rahman passed civil engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1967. Besides the Managing Director of The Civil Engineers Limited, Engineer Atiqur Rahman is serving as the Chairman of Standard Group, the country’s leading exporter of ready-made garments. It should be noted that since the establishment of The Civil Engineers Limited in 1977, many important structures have been constructed in the construction industry of Bangladesh. Notable among these are Ghorashal Power Project, Balaka Bhawan of Bangladesh Biman, Osmani Memorial Auditorium, Bardem Hospital, Bangladesh Supreme Court Justice Bhawan, NSI Head Office Bhawan, Bangladesh Investment Board Bhawan, Bangladesh Supreme Court Vijay 71 Bhawan and many public and private buildings have been constructed. . At present, the work of many projects including nuclear power project in Rooppur, water supply project in Chittagong Wasa is going on.
