International Anti-Corruption Day 2023 celebrated to build corruption-free society

Anti-corruption day was celebrated in Patuakhali with the slogan ‘we are united against corruption for the purpose of development, peace and security’. Various programs of the International Anti-Corruption Day were organized by the District Anti-Corruption Committee. The program included human chain, balloon-festoon flying and a discussion meeting at the Durbar Hall of the District Commissioner’s Office to create a corruption-free society.
The program of the International Anti-Corruption Day was inaugurated on Saturday (December 9) at 9 am with the national anthem and flag hoisting of the National and Anti-Corruption Commission. The inaugural function was presided over by Mr. Shirin Nahar, Vice-President, District Corruption Prevention Committee, Patuakhali. Deputy Commissioner Mr. Md. Noor Qutubul Alam Patuakhali was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Mr. Md. Saidul Islam, BPM, PPM, Superintendent of Police Patuakhali and Mr. Mamunur Rashid Chowdhury, Deputy Director, Anti-Corruption Commission Integrated District Office Patuakhali, Md. SM Kabir Hasan Civil Surgeon Patuakhali, President of Patuakhali District Press Club Syed Enayetur spoke as special guests. Rahman
Speakers at the opening ceremony said that the Anti-Corruption Commission is working on a plan to ensure the practice and spread of a strong anti-corruption culture at all levels of society. Besides, Anti-Corruption Committee is working to create public awareness about the evils of corruption. After the inauguration ceremony, a huge human chain was held at the foot of the Bangabandhu Wall in front of Sonali Bank in the city. Members of Satata Sangh displayed posters-banners-festoons-placards with various anti-corruption slogans in the human chain. Patuakhali District Press Club’s co-president Kazi Mamun, general secretary Nazim Uddin and other dignitaries of the city along with journalists from electronics and print media of the district and representatives of various social service organizations were present in the human chain.
