India-Bangladesh Harmony Recital Evening at Brahmanbaria

An India-Bangladesh Harmony evening titled ‘Ek Akasher Tara’ was held in Brahmanbaria on Saturday evening. Bangladeshi and Indian recitalists enthralled hundreds of spectators with their performances.
Member of Parliament of Brahmanbaria-3 Birmuktijoddha R. inaugurated the program by lighting the Mangalpradip in Sur Sur Samrat Di Alauddin music hall. A. M Ubaidul Moktadir Chowdhury. District Commissioner Md. Under the chairmanship of Shahgir Alam and under the direction of reciter Uttam Kumar Das, Fardia Ashrafi Naomi, Superintendent of Police spoke as a special guest. Shakhawat Hossain, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad. Aminul Islam, poet Abdul Mannan Sarkar, Nazrul researcher Maya Roy of Tripura, Rabindra Sangeet Sammilan Parishad president Professor Manavardhan Pal, women leader Nandita Guha.
Organized by Titus Recitation Organization, Kavyayan, a reciting group from Agartala, Tripura state of India, was invited to the event. An 11-member recital group led by Kabyayan director Deepak Saha presented two group performances titled ‘Seasonal Diversity and Humanity’. The national anthems of India and Bangladesh were performed at the beginning of the program by the artists of Titus Awkhti organization. Indian artist Deepak Saha and Bangladeshi artist Rokeya Dastgir recited relevant solos. At this time, the artistes of Titus Recitation Organization performed three groups titled Mansoor Mahiyan, Worker and Funny Poems. Former president of Brahmanbaria Press Club Md. Arju, women’s leader Taslima Sultana Khanam Nishat, novelist Parimal Bhowmik, cultural personality Faizul Kabir, cultural activist Jaminur Rahman, party convener Shamim Ahmed spoke expressing their feelings.
Deepak Saha, director of the invited recitation group Kavyayan, said, ‘We have come across the political divide to convey the message of harmony in the rhythm of poetry. We want such harmony to be organized regularly in both the countries. Let people stand for people.’
Sujan Sarkar, assistant director of Titus Awrith organization, said, ‘Our relationship with the genuine India of the liberation war has always been one of friendship. In order to increase this friendship more, the harmony between citizens should be increased. It is for that purpose that we organize the India-Bangladesh recital every year.’
