The great Independence and National Day is being celebrated with due dignity in Joypurhat through various events.
The Independence and National Day celebrations began with 31 gunshots at sunrise on Wednesday (March 26).
On this occasion, Joypurhat city’s Shaheed Dr. Abul Kashem Maidan paid tribute to the martyrs by placing flowers at the central memorial in the first hour of the morning. Joypurhat 1 constituency MP Fazlur Rahman Sayeed, Deputy Commissioner Al Mamun Mia, Superintendent of Police Mina Mahmuda, District Council Administrator and District BNP Senior Joint Convener Masud Rana Pradhan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Nurul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Bipul Kumar, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ashiq-ur-Rahman, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Jahangir Alam, Sajjad Hossain and others.Â
In addition, officials from various government departments, press clubs, and leaders of socio-political and cultural organizations including Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, Muktijoddha Sangsad paid tributes.
