The incident of two murders, including a former UP member, caused a stir in the area due to the clash between the two sides over the possession of Bazar Vit in Sunamganj’s Shalla. After the incident, local politicians also took positions on both sides. A major party says that they are trying to frame the other party by killing their own people to cover up the murders that happened during the conflict. Local people said that Mujibur Rahman and Ishub Mia of nearby Kartikpur village had a dispute over a brick in Satpara Bazar for a long time. On the day of the incident (June 27), the people of Ishub Mia started building a shop in the house, but the other side blocked it. At that time, the conflict broke out. During the clash, Mujibur Rahman’s uncle Habibur Rahman died from the blows of the opponent. Police SI Halim was injured to prevent this clash. Later in the afternoon it was reported that Ishub Mia’s cousin Helal Mia was also killed in the clash. In this incident, the police accepted two cases of murder. In one case, Mina Begum, wife of deceased Habibur Rahman, became the plaintiff (Case No. 5). In this, 36 people including Ishub Mia, Nizam Uddin were accused. Another case was filed by Helal Mia’s cousin Minara Begum as the plaintiff (case number 6). 34 people including Mujibur Mia were accused in this case. Another case was filed by police sub-inspector Rajeev Dey as the plaintiff. 19 people are accused in this case filed in the incident of police assault.
A large part of the local politicians were angry with the incident of taking this case against the police. They said, to cover up one murder, another murder took place. He said, when the news of Helal Mia’s death spread in the afternoon, everyone was shocked. Both Helal and Habibur’s house is in Kartikpur. However. Helal’s body was buried at Srihail, four kilometers from Kartikpur village. Where is the house of Upazila Parishad Chairman Saheb Al Amin Chowdhury. Earlier, no body from Kartikpur was buried in Srihail. Sunil Sarkar of Muradpur of Khaliajuri upazila of Netrakona near Kartikpur also claimed that he found Helal Mia in Adityapur around 1.30 pm on the day of the incident. Later in the afternoon he heard that he had been killed. Likewise Balarampur village Pranay Sarkar also said that after the clash, he saw them sitting with their men in a dengue boat near Beri Dam on the north side of Muradpur. In the evening Helal heard Mia was killed.
Helal Mia’s neighboring UP member Rehena Akhter said that after the clash, she searched both sides. He saw the Habi member (former UP member Habibur Rahman) go seriously injured. None of her relatives (relatives of Helal) told her about the injury of Helal Mia. He said, I heard that after the clash, Helal went to Haor by boat along with their people. Since the day after the incident, there is no one in the house of the deceased Helal’s side. Helal Mia’s statement could not be taken as the phone was switched off. Meena Begum, the wife of the deceased Habibur Rahman of the other party, said that the other party themselves killed their man (Helal) and filed a case against us to cover up the murder of her husband. He demanded proper investigation of these incidents. When Al Amin Chowdhury was asked about this, he said, I left for Sylhet on the day of the incident. In the meantime, both sides told him about the fight from Satpara. Later, the OC of the police station told on the phone that there was a murder in Satpara, he was going there. Later in the afternoon he got news of another person killed. He said, after the incident, one party demanded to explain the incident, according to him, in this case, everything will come out in the police investigation. Criminals leave traces of crime. Aminul Islam, OC of Shalla police station, said that they have taken two cases of murder after the Satpara clash. After the incident, calls are coming from various places, they are also collecting various information. He commented that the case is being properly investigated. When asked why Helal Mia’s dead body was buried in Srihail, he said, he cannot say anything about it. He said that six people from both sides were arrested after the incident.
