In Saudi Arabia, if the child does not go to school for 20 days without any reason, the parents of the students may have to suffer imprisonment. This has been announced by the Ministry of Education of Saudi Arabia.
According to the report, if a student is absent for three days, they will be issued an initial warning. Then they will be sent to the counselor. If they are absent for five days, a second warning will be issued. And if a student is absent from school for 20 days, then the public prosecution office will take the matter Ā Will inform his parents. Later will start investigation on the matter.
Ā If the parents are found negligent in this regard, the Public Prosecution Office can file a case against them in the criminal court.Ā  The court can also order the guardians to be sent to jail for a specified period subject to investigation.
Ā If the absence exceeds even after 20 days, the Education Department will apply the Child Protection Act in this regard. In that case, the parents may be arrested.Ā  The Ministry said that they may have to suffer this punishment mainly due to negligence in taking care of the child.
