A drive is underway in Barura Upazila of Comilla district against land robbers who are illegally cutting and selling soil with excavators/dredgers.
The Barura Upazila Administration is taking a strict stand on this issue.
Continuing this, Barura Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ahsan Hafiz today, 21-06-26, received a complaint that soil is being cut by Md. Shahin Pita: Mafizmia village: Betagapur Barura Comilla in Pomtala area of Bhabanipur Union of Barura. In view of the complaint, after going to the spot and finding the truth, 2 tractors used for cutting and selling soil were seized. Since the incident was tried in a mobile court, a fine of 1 lakh taka was imposed on them for being involved in cutting soil from the spot.
Barura Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ahsan Hafiz said that the Barura Upazila Administration’s campaign will continue.
