Human chain program was held in Gazipur to condemn, protest and arrest the guilty person in the incident of assaulting a teacher by a student in Chuadanga Victoria Jubilee (VJ) Government High School.

On Tuesday (October 10) at 1 pm in front of the Gazipur District Commissioner’s office, the human chain was held in the presence of teachers and students of Rani Vilasmani Government Boys High School and Joydevpur Government Girls High School on Rajbari road.

Bangladesh Govt. Secondary (BGS) Education Welfare Association Central President and Rani Bilasmani Government Boys High School senior teacher Mohammad Mokhleshur Rahman Chowdhury Tutul presided over and Md. Rubel Mia spoke in the human chain, teacher leader Abdul Matin Mia, Abu Zafar Md Saleh and others.

Speakers said that incidents of torture and abuse of teachers in different ways are increasing day by day. The safety of teachers is under threat today. But the civil and education administration is very indifferent in this matter, which is unfortunate for the nation.

Speakers also said that on October 8, Chuadanga Victoria Jubilee Government High School Assistant Teacher (Bangla) Hafizur Rahman was physically assaulted by a student while on duty in the school’s selective examination. It is unethical and unethical. Such behavior on the part of the teacher cannot be accepted in any way. I strongly request the concerned authorities to take initiative and take necessary steps so that such incidents do not happen again in the future.

At the same time, I demand from the government and the administration to ensure exemplary punishment by arresting the student involved in assaulting the teacher along with canceling his studentship.
