Although there is a name on paper, there are twenty percent in reality. 80 percent of the village has disappeared into the river. The victims have lost their homes and are living a dehumanized life. He demanded to protect hundreds of acres of agricultural land and residential areas including schools, mosques and madrasas by throwing geo bags to prevent rapid erosion. A victim woman named Jamila Begum said, “We have no property except 8 percent housing.” I was managing my life with four daughters. Last Saturday around 2 pm when the river started to erode, 10/12 houses including my house were lost in the river by 2 am. There is no place to make a home elsewhere. Where will I go with my husband and four daughters? Chairman of Nikrail Union Masudul Haque Masud said that geobags have been thrown in almost all parts of his union but some places are empty. However, he said that geobags will be put in that empty area soon. Tangail District Water Development Board Executive Director. Sajjat Hossain said that 7.85 meters geoag drumming has already been done in Nikrail and Mati Kata Union of Bhuyapur Upazila. Also 5 km. Embankment work is in progress.
