On the occasion of National Safe Road Day 2023 under the theme “Let’s walk on the road according to the law and build a smart Bangladesh”, Highway Police Madaripur Region organized a discussion meeting to increase public awareness and a month-long debate competition at university and college level on October 30th in the afternoon in the hall of Rajbari Municipality. He said, Bangladesh has 9 thousand kilometers of highways. I am serving in 21 districts from Bhanga to Bhola. Highway police are working on about 3 thousand highways. By overcoming the manpower crisis, the highway police will be transformed into smart police and serve the people.
Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that developing countries will be developed by 2021 and Smart Bangladesh by 2041. So to build a smart country, smart people are needed. Every man should be smart. We need to know the minimum traffic laws on the highway and follow them. This will bring back chaos on the road and reduce accidents. The Highway Police works to maintain order, safety and accident reduction on the highways. An accident is the cry of a lifetime. The driver and assistants drive the car with great difficulty. They have various disadvantages including less rest time, lack of training. These need to be resolved in coordination with the owners and workers.
Accidents will be reduced only if everyone follows the traffic laws.
He downloaded an app called Hello HP to prevent road accidents and discussed the importance and scope of this app. Hello HP site has mobile numbers of senior officials including DIG, Additional IG. Any one can call and report the abuse of highway police. Action will be taken if any complaint is received. If there is an accident or robbery on the highway, the police will reach within 10 minutes by sending a message through Hello HP Apps.
He also said that everyone should like the web site and Facebook page named Highway Police. You can know about the work, manpower and scope of Highway Police. There are short films and short films. There are 13 short films very important for driver awareness. If the people can be involved and create awareness, the accidents on the highways will be reduced. We want to always be with the people in the service of the people. ‘
