The police recovered the hanging body of a schoolgirl named Farzana Akhter (10), a fourth class student in Patuakhali’s Bauphal. On Thursday (May 4) morning, Farzana’s body was recovered from Nijbasa of Chandanbaria village of Baga union of the upazila. Farzana is the daughter of Abul Hossain Sikder of that village. According to related sources, Farzana’s brother Imran went to collect Mugdal near the house on Thursday morning. When he returned home to eat rice at around 9 am, he saw Farazana hanging from the ceiling and started shouting. There was no one else in the house at that time.
On receiving the information, Baga police outpost SI Badal Krishna reached the spot and recovered Farzana’s body. Arichul Haque, OC of Bauphal police station, said that a case of wrongful death has been registered in this regard. Sent to Las Morgue for autopsy. Murder or suicide can be confirmed after an autopsy.
