Before this, the price of gold was increased six times on May 20, 19, 12, 8, 6 and 5.

The price of one bar of good quality gold increased by Tk 10 thousand 381 in six rounds. Now the price of good quality gold has reduced by two thousand 367 taka. Bajus says that after increasing the price of gold in six steps, the price of acidic gold has increased in the local market. Therefore, considering the overall situation, Bajus has fixed the new price of gold, which will be effective from Sunday (May 26). On Saturday (May 25), Bajus Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring Committee meeting decided to increase the price again. Later this information was informed in a circular signed by the chairman of the committee, Masudur Rahman. According to the new prices, the price of one bar of best quality or 22 carat gold has been reduced by Tk 1,283 to Tk 1,17,177. The price of a 21 carat gold bar has been reduced by Tk 1,236 to Tk 111,846. Apart from this, the price of 18 carat gold has been reduced by 1 thousand 62 taka to 95 thousand 866 taka.

The traditional gold price has been reduced by 875 taka to 79 thousand 257 taka. However, buyers have to pay more than this to buy gold jewellery. Because gold jewelery is sold by adding five per cent VAT on the Bajus fixed price. Also, minimum wages will be six percent per hour. As a result, buyers will have to pay 1 lakh 30 thousand 67 taka to buy 22 carat gold jewelry from Sunday. Earlier on May 24, the price of the best quality or 22 carat gold was reduced by 1 thousand 84 taka to 1 lakh 18 thousand 460 taka. The price of 21 carat gold was reduced by 1 thousand 27 taka to 1 lakh 13 thousand 82 taka. In addition, the price of 18 carat gold has been reduced by 875 taka to 96 thousand 928 taka. The price of one load of traditional gold was reduced by 735 taka to 80 thousand 132 taka. While the price of gold has been reduced, the price of silver has remained unchanged. The price of 22 carat silver is 2 thousand 100 taka, 21 carat is 2 thousand 6 taka, 18 carat is 1 thousand 715 and traditional method is 1 thousand 283 taka
