Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation in the country. RAB has become a place of trust for the victims of innocent people by suppressing heinous crimes like fraud and rape along with operations against militants, terrorism and drugs. In continuation of this, on the basis of secret information today, on May 24, 2023, a raiding team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in the Kadmatoli police station area of the capital Dhaka. The absconding accused in the gang rape case lodged in the Sabuj Bagh police station of the capital Md. Jamal (35), father – Md. Humayun, member – South Mothertech, Police Station- Sabujbagh, Dhaka, A/P- Rayerbagh Janatabagh Police Station- Kadmatoli, Dhaka arrested. Meanwhile, 02 mobile phones were recovered from him. During preliminary interrogation, the arrested accused admitted his involvement in the said incident. Besides, it is known that there are 01 cases of gang-rape against the arrested accused in Hatirjheel, Demra and Jatrabari police stations of the capital, and a total of 07 cases under the drug, theft and speedy trial laws in different police stations. The arrested accused has been handed over to the concerned police station.
