A case has been filed against 15 people including ex-LGRD Minister Tajul Islam for demanding Tk 20 lakhs, house-to-house attack, vandalism and attempted murder. 90 other unidentified people were accused in the same complaint. According to the source of the case, 15 people, including former minister Tajul Islam, have been named in the allegations of extortion, vandalism, looting and attempted murder of the family on Saturday night of August 3 this year, on the road in front of the bypass market in Nasratpur area of Laksam municipality and on Sunday night of August 18 of the same month. The victim Monir Ahmed filed a case against 90 other anonymous people on August 27 in Comilla No. 6 Administrative Court. He is the son of late Hussain Ali of Nasratpur village of Laksam municipality and is the joint convener of BNP in Laksam municipality and Laksam correspondent of daily Dinkal newspaper. Senior Judicial Magistrate Didarul Islam of that court has directed the OC of Laksam Police Station to submit a report after investigating the complaint. Advocate Qaimul Haque Rinku, the plaintiff’s lawyer, confirmed the matter to reporters. In this case, former LGRD minister and ex-member of Parliament of Laksam-Manoharganj constituency Tajul Islam has been made the number one accused, his brother-in-law Laksam Upazila Vice Chairman Mohabbat Ali has been made the second accused, municipal councilor Mohammad Ullah, Bipulasar Union Parishad Chairman Iqbal Mahmud, Laksam Municipal Mayor Professor Abul Khair, Gobindpur Union Chairman Nizam Uddin Shamim, Kandirpar Union Chairman Omar Farooq, Councilor Khalilur Rahman, Manoharganj Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman and minister’s nephew Amirul Islam, Former Minister Tajul Development Coordinator Kamal Hossain, Jahangir Alam, Azkara Union Chairman Nazrul. Islam, Ruhul Amin, Abdul Quader Shaheen and Kawshar Ahmed.
