First art college in Saudi history opened

This is the first art college in the history of Saudi Arabia.  This specialized art college has been launched at King Saud University in the capital, Riyadh. This college has been built under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture of the country.
 The ‘College of Arts’ was inaugurated in the university theater last Sunday. Deputy Minister of Culture Hamed Bin Mohammad Faiz and President of King Saud University Dr.  Badran al-Omar.  Apart from this, the event was attended by culture and art lovers of the country and huge number of visitors.
 Deputy Minister of Culture Hamed bin Mohammed Fayez emphasized the importance of art related institutions in his speech. He said, this art institute is a reflection of the commitment of the Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan on culture and art in the implementation of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
 This institute will be the beginning of fusion between science and culture.  It is said that the college will have design, performing arts and visual arts departments.
