Miscreants set fire to a bus standing in Natiapara area of Delduar upazila of Tangail. The incident took place at Natiapara area of Dubail Union on Bangabandhu Bridge-Dhaka-Tangail highway around 11:30 pm on Monday. There was no casualty in this incident.
According to locals, the Dhaka Metro B-14-0094 bus travels daily from Tangail bus stand to Mirzapur and Sakhipur roads. The bus also sometimes carries employees of Mirzapur Garments. Today, the garment workers dropped the bus and parked it on the side of the Natiyapara highway. Later, helper Bablu Mia, who was sleeping inside the bus, suddenly saw the fire at around 11:30 pm and called the people nearby. Later, when the fire service was mobile, they came within 15 minutes and brought the fire under control.
Bus helper Bablu Mia said, I sleep by the side of the highway. After a while I saw the fire behind the bus. The helper of the bus lost consciousness while saying this.
Russell Mia, Station Officer of Delduar Fire Service, said, “We came within 15 minutes and brought the fire under control after the locals informed us.” There was only a helper in the bus, he came out after seeing the fire, so there were no casualties. However, most of the inside of the bus was burnt.
In this regard, the officer in charge (OC) of Delduar police station, Mostafizur Rahman, said that the helper was sleeping inside the bus while standing at the bus stand. He suddenly saw fire behind him. Seeing the fire, he came out and called everyone. Later, the people of the neighborhood came and called the fire service, they quickly came and brought the fire under control within 15 minutes. It is initially believed to be sabotage. Evidence is being collected. Details will be known after investigation.
