Joe Biden suddenly announced his withdrawal from the US presidential election last month. However, he has come under intense pressure within his own party due to health concerns and being sidelined by Donald Trump in the presidential debate. However, in the end, the current president of the United States announced that he would be in the election fight. But first, Biden changed his decision after contracting the coronavirus for the third time and attacking his rival Donald Trump.

On July 21, the 81-year-old leader announced on social media that he will not contest again. Instead, Kamala Harris will fight for the White House.

Since then, not much has been heard from the mouth of the US president. Finally, in an interview given to CBS News last Wednesday, he gave the reason for withdrawing from the election. The interview aired on Sunday (August 11).

There, Biden said, “When I first ran (as a presidential candidate), I thought of myself as a transition president.” Now I can’t even tell how old I am – it’s hard to put it out.

This Democrat leader emphasized on defeating Trump in the election. He said, it is a great honor to be president. I feel I have an obligation to the country to do what I can. We must defeat Trump.

After the election, in January 2025, the responsibility will be handed over to the new President of the United States. Asked if there would be a peaceful transfer of power at that time, Biden said, “If Trump loses, I’m not at all confident (about a peaceful transfer). He does what he says. In other words, “If we lose the election, the river will flow” – all the things that Trump said were meant to be done.
