Demonstration rally in Chapainawabganj for five point demands keeping the slogan save agriculture, save farmers, save the country. (DC) Memorandum is issued in office. On Monday (March 20) morning, Chapainawabganj District Farmers Association held a protest rally. Earlier, a protest march took out from Bishwa Road intersection of the district town and after circling the important roads of the municipality, it ended in front of the District Commissioner’s office. An hour-long protest was held there with more than two hundred farmers. President of Bangladesh Farmers’ Association Chapainawabganj district branch and heroic freedom fighter Humayon Kabir spoke in the assembly, vice-president Hasen Ali, district general secretary Milan Kumar Pal, farmers Kamal Uddin, Abed Ali, Adv. Saidur Rahman, Israel Hossain Sentu and others. Later, a five-point demand was submitted to the Chapainawabganj District Commissioner.
In their speech, the leaders who united in the protest rally to demand five points said that unscrupulous dealers sell fertilizers to the farmers at much higher prices by showing artificial scarcity of fertilizers during Boro season. As a result, the cost of producing crops for farmers is increasing. The agricultural market system is in the hands of syndicates. Farmers say these things because they are getting disoriented without getting a profitable price for paddy.
