Rajib Dey: State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salahuddin Tuku has said that the government is taking effective steps to further strengthen the development of indigenous cattle and farm management.
The State Minister said these things during his visit to the Central Cattle Breeding and Dairy Farm in Savar today.
The State Minister said that the grass produced at the Central Cattle Breeding and Dairy Farm is being used as food for the cattle here, which is a positive development. He said that emphasis is being placed on further increasing the productivity and efficiency of the farm through improved management, so that the expected results can be achieved.
During the visit, the State Minister inspected the farm’s calf (caf) section, dairy farm, Pabna Cattle Unit, Mirkadim Unit, Holstein-Friesian Unit, Artificial Insemination (AI) Laboratory, Breeding Bull Unit and 100% American Friesian Bull. During this time, he inspected the development of indigenous cattle, animal feed production, farm management and overall infrastructure activities and provided necessary guidance to the concerned officials.
The State Minister said that the real picture is not always fully reflected with the information on paper and pen. Therefore, an idea of the actual situation can be obtained through on-site inspections at the field level. This makes it possible to identify the existing problems and take necessary measures to effectively solve them.
He also said that we do not want to move forward with what has happened in the past. Our goal is development. To implement that goal, necessary and effective steps are being taken in the light of reality through regular inspections at the field level.
During the inspection, the State Minister was accompanied by Director General of the Department of Livestock Md. Shahzaman Khan, Director of the Central Cattle Breeding and Dairy Farm Md. Shahidul Islam, and senior officials and employees of the farm.
